Government's Power over Activism

Welcome to our quest to figure out what state environmental activism is in around the world. Without freedoms or funding or belief that a global environmental crisis is occurring all around us, what state will we find the world in fifty years? Is environmental activism strong in other nations? What are the issues nations besides the US find important and vital to work out? Do political agendas and national wealth always have to stand in the way of creating a better planet? In this blog, this is what we'll be exploring.

A few weeks ago, while staying with my grandparents in the LA area, I stumbled across this story of the state of environmental activism in Russia. As my grandfather worked through his New York Times crossword, I sat fascinated and horrified by how much power a government can have over their people and the speech and rights of their citizens.

Read the story. It sparked this blog that you are currently reading. If you have ideas of what you'd like to see as you read, let us know.
